the pink flowers on the tall stalks are hollyhocks–we have them in our garden too.
Oh my gosh thank you! I saw them all over Nantucket and my mother-in-law, who is an avid gardener, could not think of the name. I thought they were so strikingly beautiful – if I had a green thumb my garden would be full of them!
I am drawn to your “lovely tree” picture. It’s very spiritual. I have an urge to wrap my arms around it. It’s beautiful. I also adore herder of cat’s photo, it reminds me of the time my sister started to take in stray cats and ended up with thirty of them! All different colours and personalities. Animals are such a joy. I am sorry to read about dear Maddie. It truly is like losing a close family member. Two dogs I had passed. One was ten years ago, and yes the grieving gets less painful but my heart still feels empty. Four weeks after his passing my husband (now ex) decided to take me round all the shelters to find another dog. We did this for a whole week. But the pain in my chest from grieving was so server I could not concentrate. The following week he took me to Battersea Dogs Home (London) and there I found a dog that seemed to choose me. He didn’t replace my dear Mickey, but I think he helped to occupy my mind, and he certainly kept me amused. He was such a funny dog, but sadly last year he passed away. It was a total shock. As per your quote about life, “ready or not here I come”, it sure did for me. Although I had a feeling something was wrong with him, but my husband dismissed it.
I didn’t get another dog, but what I do have is a fox, she visits daily. She had four cubs this year and it was such a delight to watch a mother, play, wash, and love her babies. I also have a cat she is fourteen and still behaves like a kitten!
Thank you for sharing your wonderful pictures, and stories. And thank you for visiting me. Your blog is very interesting, how do you find the time! As you may have guessed, I like to write. Wishing you all the very best, Lisette.
Thank you. I came upon that tree on the loveliest walk with my mother-in-law this summer. We had a lovely breakfast together and then walked along this path with the most gorgeous views of the ocean. The gardens were incredible and I took lots of pictures – but I was drawn to that tree. I love trees. We have two big trees in our front yard which is uncommon here in Colorado. I’m sorry for the loss of your dogs. I just said to my husband last night how I miss her smiling face and her chomping on snacks in bed with my husband. We’re not quite ready to get another dog yet. It’s hard to believe we will ever find one as sweet as Maddie was. Unfortunately I have severe allergies and we can only adopt a pure bred shih tzu (or poodle but we prefer shih tzus).
I’m glad you enjoyed my posts. They are a hodgepodge of ideas & feelings that pop in to my head. It is hard to find the time now that school has started again. I stay up late or wake up early – regardless I drink a lot of coffee : ) Thanks for reading!
Love, love, loooove. Love.
